Roansy Contreras’ second stint with the Yankees was a short one.
The former Yankees prospect, who was dealt to the Pirates in the Jameson Taillon trade in January 2021 and claimed again late last month, has been lost on waivers.
The Orioles claimed Contreras, whom the Yankees had designated for assignment.
The Yankees were more successful with righty Allan Winans, who snuck through waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Winans, whom the Yankees had claimed from the Braves, will be in major league spring training as a non-roster invitee.
