Will There Be A Season 3 of ‘The Recruit’ on Netflix?

The wait is over and The Recruit is finally back for Season 2. More than two years after Noah Centineo first graced our screens as Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer with a predisposition to landing in hot water, the team is back and in even deeper ish than ever before.

On January 30, Netflix released all six episodes of the second season, and unsurprisingly, fans devoured every minute of the spy dramedy, this time set between South Korea and the United States.

With all of The Recruit Season 2 now out in the world, we can’t blame you if you find yourself quickly at the finale, twiddling your thumbs, and anxiously waiting for more episodes. Trust us, we’re right there with you.

Wondering if The Recruit has been renewed for Season 3? Looking to find out when the potential third installment could be released? Maybe you just want a refresher on who stars in the show. Here’s everything you need to know about The Recruit Season 3…

Has Netflix Renewed The Recruit for Season 3?

Sadly, no renewal yet for the unlikely spy thriller. Given that Netflix likes to take its sweet time before issuing renewal or cancellation notices, we might be waiting a beat before finding out if we will see more of Owen Hendricks and the team. Just for reference, it took Netflix just about a month after Season 1 dropped to confirm a second season was in the works so we expect to find out something in the next couple of weeks.

When Could a Third Season of The Recruit Release on Netflix?

More bad news. It took the series just over two years to release Season 2 after its freshman season hit the streaming platform in December 2022 to solid reviews. We can only hope that series creator Alexi Hawley and the writers have scripts ready to go and that a third season will come a lot quicker.

Who Stars in The Recruit?

While Centineo leads the cast in both Season 1 and Season 2, the ensemble is filled out by Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Aarti Mann, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Kaylah Zander, Angel Parker, and Kristian Bruun. Season 2 also welcomes Young-Ah Kim, Felix Solis, James Purefoy, Shin Do-hyun, Sanghee Lee, Omar Maskati, Brooke Smith, Devika Bhise, and Alana Hawley Purvis. Maddie Hasson is also back as Max’s daughter, Karolina, who was believed to be dead.

What Is The Recruit Season 2 About?

After a messy first season that ended with the death of Owen’s asset, Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), Season 2 finds everyone’s favorite CIA lawyer working to locate the kidnapped wife of a powerful South Korean national (Teo Yoo) who is threatening to expose highly-classified details about the United States and the CIA.

What Could The Recruit Season 3 Be About?

Like Season 1, Season 2 ended with plenty of loose ends that need to be tied up. The primary one that we are wondering about is what happens to Karolina after she is taken by the KGB. She promised to deliver Jang Kyun (Yoo) and Owen and then failed to hand them over as they got away. Just because she was a double agent the entire season doesn’t mean we have lost interest in her. Another loose end worth exploring: what happens to Owen next? Will he really leave behind that life or will he try and find himself unsuccessful?

Should Hawley and the other creators decide to completely start fresh, however, we would absolutely love to see Hendricks, Kitchens, and the rest of the gang get up to shenanigans in another foreign country. Since we’ve already hit Eastern Europe with Belarus in Season 1 and now South Korea in Season 2, it would be a lot of fun to head to South America or Africa in Season 3. Perhaps something with an overthrown government and the revealing of classified intel?
