Taylor Swift is holding space for Cynthia Erivo.
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Trevor Noah announced, “Taylor Swift is here!” And as the cameras panned to the singer, viewers noticed that she was sharing a seat with “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo.
In a video shared on X during the awards ceremony in LA on Feb. 2, Erivo, 38, was seen walking through Crypto.com Arena looking for her seat while the host 40, started his opening monologue.
The actress caught the eye of Swift, 35, who waved her over to the table and ushered Erivo to share the chair with her. Also seated at Swift’s table was collaborator Jack Antonoff and his wife, “The Substance” actress Margaret Qualley.
Erivo was seated on the chair next to Swift as the pair embraced with a laugh.
In a second X video, the “Fortnight” artist laughed as she grabbed Erivo’s finger to reenact the viral “holding space” moment with her “Wicked” co-star Ariana Grande during the film’s press tour.
“HELP?!? TAYLOR SWIFT JUST TRIED HOLDING SPACE FOR THE LYRICS OF DEFYING GRAVITY WITH CYNTHIA ERIVO AT THE #GRAMMYs 😭,” the social media user captioned the post.
“THE DUO WE NEVER KNEW WE NEEDED,” a fan commented.
Erivo — who won a Grammy Best Musical Theater Album for her 2017 performance in “The Color Purple” — performed during the awards show as part of a tribute for the late Quincy Jones.
Swift, meanwhile, took the stage to present Best Country Album to winner Beyonce.
The superstar is also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Us,” her duet with Gracie Abrams, Best Pop Vocal Performance and Album of the Year for “The Tortured Poets Department,” and Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Record of the Year for “Fortnight” feat. Post Malone.
Swift lost the Best Music Video award to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us,” and the Best Pop Vocal Performance award after it went to Sabrina Carpenter for “Short n’ Sweet.”
But Swift, who wore a red custom Vivienne Westwood mini dress, red heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, shook it off, as she danced to Carpenter’s performance.
At one point, she put her hands in a prayer pose while swaying back and forth to “Please Please Please.”
She even got Antonoff, who produced the track for Carpenter, in on the fun.
Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, wasn’t at the ceremony as he just touched down in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl.
His Kansas City Chiefs team is set to face-off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9.
Swift seemingly gave a nod to Kelce by wearing all red, the Chief’s color, and a “T” chain wrapped around her upper thigh.
