Jenna Bush Hager revealed that her husband, Henry Hager, has barred their eldest daughter from appearing on the “Today” show.
Bush Hager explained to E! News on Monday that her 11-year-old daughter, Mila Hager, “really wants” to co-host with her on the fourth hour of the “Today” show, but her husband isn’t into the idea.
“She said something very controversial,” Bush Hager shared. “So, therefore, my husband gave her a lifetime ban. We’ll see if that’s lifted maybe for bring your kids to work day. But she hasn’t been always the most supportive, let’s just say that.”
The Read with Jenna founder, 43, added that so far, Mila is the only person in her famous family expressing interest in the gig, but she’s hoping that will change.
“They’re not jumping, but I may push them like I’ve done my whole life,” Bush Hager teased.
Bush Hager has been co-hosting with various celebrities –– including Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johansson –– on “Today with Jenna & Friends” to find a permanent replacement for Hoda Kotb on the previously titled “Today with Hoda and Jenna.”
Bush Hager didn’t specify what her daughter’s “very controversial” moment was, but Mila found herself making headlines in 2022 when she appeared on the “Today” show and confirmed that her mom doesn’t wear underwear.
“She never wears underwear,” Mila said at the time. “She’s not wearing it right now! I saw her change!”
The former first daughter buried her face in her hands and giggled while promptly rushing Mila off the broadcast.
The “Sisters First” author was the first person to share the candid fact about herself and defended her decision to “never” wear undergarments.
“There’s a lot of pros to it!” she said in November 2022. “I’m sure my mom has never been more proud.”
Bush Hager and her husband –– who have been married since 2008 –– share daughters Mila and Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5.
