White House touts Trump's comeback to mark Presidents Day

The White House touted President Trump’s comeback from facing multiple legal issues to his 2024 victory to mark Presidents Day on Monday.

It shared an image on social media of Trump’s mug shot from when he was indicted in Georgia in August 2023 next to an image of Trump’s official presidential portrait.

“They’re not just after me, they’re after you — I’m just standing in the way,” the post read, citing a quote from Trump following his June 2023 indictment in the federal documents case.

He gave a speech to supporters in Georgia to slam that indictment and declare his innocence at the time.

Trump focused on his threats for retribution throughout the 2024 campaign and has maintained that he is innocent and was politically prosecuted in his many legal cases.

The White House also reshared a post Monday that revealed Trump’s mug shot is hanging outside the Oval Office. White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino posted a video Friday showing a close-up of a framed edition of the New York Post cover with his full-page mug shot.

Trump had surrendered at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after he was charged in connection with his attempts to overturn 2020 election laws in the state.

The president was indicted four times in 2023, and one of those indictments ended up at trial, when he was found guilty in New York last May on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
