Where to buy tickets, schedule, dates, new song

Lizzo is entering a new era.

The four-time Grammy winner just announced she’s toplining three intimate ‘Lizzo In Real Life’ shows in support of her jubilant new single “Love In Real Life.”

That includes a stop at New York City’s Irving Plaza on Sunday, March 16.

Her other concerts are scheduled to go down at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern on Wednesday, March 12 and Minneapolis’ First Avenue on Tuesday, March 18.

In addition to the song release — which will likely be featured on Lizzo’s forthcoming fifth studio album due out this summer — the 36-year-old superstar also dropped a cinematic video marrying vibrant images to the music. In it, a seemingly fun night at the club goes horribly wrong until our hero finds herself dancing alongside zombies on a desolate cobblestone street.

Also, of note, these will be Lizzo’s first concerts, aside from ‘An Evening with President Joe Biden’ at Radio City and the Walmart Associates Celebration, since August 2023 misconduct allegations by three of her former backup dancers. In the lawsuit, she was accused of a number of offenses including sexual, religious and racial harassment.

“Lizzbians” can purchase tickets for all upcoming Lizzo shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale is Thursday, March 6.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Lizzo new music

On Feb. 28, Lizzo put out new tracks for the first time since she contributed “Pink” to the 2023 “Barbie” soundtrack.

The first song, “Everything Was So Much Simpler,” clocks in at just 22-seconds and serves as an ethereal, spoken-word prelude to the ebullient “Love In Real Life.” The dance-y, guitar-heavy jam evokes Michael Jackson, “Footloose” with a sprinkle of 2010s indie rock thrown in for good measure.

Lizzo controversy

As noted above, Lizzo (as well as her dance captain Shirlene Quigley) was accused of a number of offenses in August 2023. In addition to three listed earlier, she also allegedly took part in disability discrimination, assault, false imprisonment, creating a hostile work environment, and weight-shaming.

Other former creative collaborators corroborated the story.

Once the bombshell news item was made public, Lizzo addressed the lawsuit and deemed them “unbelievable” and “too outrageous not to be addressed” according to NPR.

“Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valuable as an important part of the team,” she wrote.

The most recent action made in the trial took place in February 2024 when a Los Angeles judge turned down Lizzo’s request to terminate the case. He did dismiss a few charges (including but not limited to Lizzo fat-shaming a dancer and discrimination against a person with a disability) while upholding others (sexual harassment and racial and religious discrimination).
