The College Football Playoff quarterfinal between Georgia and Notre Dame was postponed after a deadly pickup truck attack in New Orleans that killed at least 15 people and injured dozens of others on Wednesday morning.
The Sugar Bowl was originally scheduled for Wednesday night but was pushed back due to public safety concerns. The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 2 at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The winner of the Bulldogs/Fighting Irish matchup will secure the fourth and final spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals. No. 5 Texas and No. 8 Ohio State will square off in the Cotton Bowl on January 10, while the winner of today’s game will take on No. 6 Penn State in the Orange Bowl on January 9. The final two teams will meet in the National Championship Game on January 20.
