BOSTON — The Rangers reconvened for practice Tuesday ahead of the resumption of the NHL schedule, one that will have the Blueshirts go back-to-back in Buffalo (at 5:30) and Pittsburgh (at 3:30) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
How much do you think J.T. Miller, Chris Kreider, Adam Fox and Vincent Trocheck will have to give?
I understand the NHL did not want to lose a second weekend to 4 Nations, and I also understand that not every club has as many as four players going to Thursday’s final, but this is going to be a grind for the athletes who are going the tournament distance while an overwhelming majority of the league has been frolicking on the beach.
To reset, the Rangers will enter the weekend three points out of a playoff with three teams to pass in order to secure an invite to the ball. The Blueshirts are two points behind Boston and Columbus, holding one game in hand on the Jackets and two on the B’s, and are three points behind second-wild card Detroit, each team with 27 games to go.
