President Trump hosted the first Cabinet meeting of his second term on Wednesday morning, bringing together for the first time both sworn-in members of his administration and the nominees still waiting for Senate confirmation.
Billionaire and key Trump ally Elon Musk also joined the meeting and gave remarks about his efforts to curb government spending and overhaul the federal workforce. The move comes as confusion continues to plague agencies over a directive by Musk over the weekend that indicated every federal employee must answer an email explaining what they accomplished over the last week or face termination.
The group also spoke about fulfilling Trump’s policy agenda including his robust immigration agenda, energy goals and the looming threat of tariffs on goods imported in from other countries.
