Jamieson Greer is testifying before the Senate Finance Committee Thursday morning in his bid to be the U.S. trade representative.
Greer, tapped by President Trump for the role, served as an aide in the office during the president’s first term in office. The move comes amid Trump’s tariff threats on Canada and Mexico. The added 25 percent tax on imported goods from the U.S. neighbors, currently on pause, has caused turmoil among the North American nations.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
