Nikki Glaser is a big fan of Ozempic.
The comedian, 40, appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday and advocated for people taking the medication to lose weight.
“Oh, I love it, I love. I’m like, do it, do it. I have no judgment,” she said. “If you want to do Ozempic, hell yeah, girl.”
Glaser continued, “I want people to feel more comfortable talking about doing it, because I feel like there’s this shame. And the shame is only from thin people who want you to stay fat. That’s really where it’s coming from.”
The Golden Globes host joked that Ozempic critics are “so mad” users are getting thin because “that’s all they have.”
“You have your dynamic, you have a good personality, and they’re like, ‘No.’ They’re so mad,” she said. “But they can’t say it right. They just go, ‘You’re stealing medicine from diabetics who need it.’ That’s their excuse. Like anyone’s ever cared about someone with diabetes who doesn’t have it.”
“It’s suddenly all these thin white women who are like, ‘Diabetics need their meds.’ No, I think you’re upset that Kathy Bates has a thigh gap,” Glaser joked, adding, “She’s coming for you. That’s more what it could be about, I think.”
Bates, 76, told People in October that she lost 20 pounds on Ozempic and 80 pounds from changes to her lifestyle and diet over the last seven years.
“There’s been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic,” Bates told the outlet, adding, “But I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It’s very hard to say you’ve had enough.”
“I ate because I was afraid, and I ate because it was a FU to my self-esteem,” said the “Matlock” star, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes around 2017.
“[Diabetes] runs in my family, and I’d seen what my father had gone through. He had had a leg amputation. One of my sisters is dealing with it very seriously, and it terrified me. It scared me straight,” she added.
Additional celebrities who have admitted to taking Ozempic and other medications like Mounjaro to lose weight include Amy Schumer, Oprah Winfrey and Sharon Osbourne.
But some stars have denied being on Ozempic while looking noticeably thinner – which “Hacks” star Meg Stalter doesn’t appreciate.
“Let’s just say the trips to the bathroom would say otherwise, okay? We know if you’re on it because you’re s–tting your pants,” the 34-year-old actress said on the “Grindr Presents: Who’s The A—–? with Katya” podcast last week.
“How is that hotter than being fat? That is insane to me. That is crazy,” she added.
