Two men were found shot dead Monday — one in his front yard and the other inside a car — in what Long Island cops are probing as a murder-suicide, authorities said.
Marek Gusciora, 66, was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest in the front yard of his home on Nevada Street near Park Avenue in Lindenhurst minutes before 4 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.
Gusciora was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
An investigation led Suffolk County cops to the parking lot of an LA Fitness about a half-mile away – where Augustyn Jedra, 69, who is homeless, was found dead with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest just after 5 p.m., cops said.
Investigators are probing the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide, according to authorities.
Gusciora and Jedra “had known each other for quite a while,” but their exact relationship was unclear Tuesday, police said.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
