The Transportation Security Authority (TSA) recently released a video highlighting the “10 best catches” of prohibited items found at airport security in 2024.
“While most people are dropping their list of what was HOT last year… we’re here with a list of what was NOT (prohibited items),” TSA said.
Coming in at number 10, at the Asheville, North Carolina airport a jar of Jif peanut butter was confiscated after it was found to have marijuana inside of it.
At the Williamsburg International Airport in Virginia, a pocketknife was found shoved inside someone’s shoe. The video said the individual claimed they didn’t know the knife was there.
Number eight on the best catches of year was at Newark, New Jersey’s airport when TSA found a gun hidden inside a red combat boot. The boot was stuffed inside a Lego box.
At the Seattle Tacoma International Airport, a four-and-a-half-inch knife was found inside of a laptop.
Number six took place at Chicago’s Midway airport when someone shoved a vape pen inside a toothpaste tube.
“Nine out of 10 dentists don’t recommend hiding your vape inside of your toothpaste,” TSA said in the video.
In Portland, Oregon, TSA found a gun wrapped in foil “hiding” inside of a teapot.
Number four on the best catches of the year happened at Portsmouth International Airport when TSA found methamphetamine wrapped in electrical tape inside a pair of crutches.
In Miami, someone brought a live snake hidden inside their pants.
Coming in at number two, at the El Paso International Airport, an improvised explosive device was discovered in a passenger’s carry-on bag.
At the top of the list for the 10 best catches of 2024 was a gun that was found in the seat pocket of a stroller at a Houston airport. The baby was also inside the stroller.
