Pro-Palestinian activists vandalized Trump Turnberry Resort in Scotland, digging up at least one of the golf course’s greens and using red spray-paint to deface buildings.
“Gaza is not 4 sale” was scrawled across another green — an apparent response to President Donald Trump’s interest in reconstructing Gaza and turning it into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” BBC reported.
“Free Gaza” and “Free Palestine” were also plastered in spray paint across some of the property.
Lighting fixtures were also destroyed on the grounds, the outlet reported.
Scottish authorities are investigating the vandalism.
Palestine Action claimed responsibility for the damage wrought at Turnberry, sharing images on social media of a defaced clubhouse at the Ayrshire course.
The group said it “rejects Donald Trump’s treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes. … To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance.”
A Trump representative characterized the incident as a “childish, criminal act,” BBC reported.
The president purchased the resort in 2014.
Since then, there have been significant renovations to the resort, which boasts three courses — two with 18 holes and a nine-hole course.
