No feud here.
Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange reunited in New York City on Monday, nearly eight years after they starred in FX’s “Feud: Bette and Joan.”
The actresses and longtime friends stepped out for a rare outing together in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan.
Lange, 75, walked her dog on her leash as she enjoyed her stroll with Sarandon, 78.
The “American Horror Story” actress was bundled up in a black bomber jacket and also wore black pants, blue sneakers and a pair of sunglasses.
Sarandon, meanwhile, was dressed in a burgundy jacket, grey sweatpants, Ugg boots and a black hat. She also held an orange shopping bag in one of her hands.
The two actors shared the screen in the first season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series that documented the infamous rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis that started on the set of “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
Lange played Crawford and Sarandon played Davis in the 2017 series. They were both nominated at the Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards for their performances.
After the show came out, Murphy, 29, confirmed that, unlike their characters, Lange and Sarandon got along great on set.
“When you go into a project like this that’s based on such a famous feud,” the actors who you have playing the feud can go super method and really go at each other,” he told E! News. “And I’ve actually seen that happen on projects where you write antagonism, and then it ends up becoming true.”
Murphy continued, “I was stunned at how Jessica and Susan would really go for each other’s throats, and some of those scenes, they don’t come to blows, but at one point [Joan] gets kicked in the head and I would yell, ‘Cut!’ and I was always really relieved that they would die laughing together.”
“They were very supportive of each other, in a way that I‘ve never seen from two actors on a show before,” the TV producer added. “Like, ‘Was I too tough in that last take? You know I don’t mean it!’ Joking. Laughing.”
In that same March 2017 interview, Lange said it was “wonderful” to finally work with Sarandon, after knowing each other since the 1980s.
“Sometimes when you start working with an actor and they’re working in a very different way, you have to make adjustments and there’s a tension. There was none of that with Susan,” said Lange. “We just kind of stepped in and got to work, it was wonderful.”
Lange and Sarandon’s friendship has continued since “Feud.” During one of the pair’s NYC strolls last year, Lange sat in a wheelchair, which made fans concerned for her health.
However, Lange’s spokesperson told Page Six at the time, “Jessica is healthy and well, she is recovering from a leg injury she incurred at a dog park.”
