Super Bowl 2025 Gatorade color odds — what history reveals about popular prop bet

Splish splash, this coach will be taking a bath.

The color of the Gatorade that will be dumped on the winning coach of Super Bowl 2025 is among the most fun betting props of the big game, and purple is the favorite (+175, DraftKings).

Last season, purple was dumped on Chiefs coach Andy Reid, although this was somehow not shown on the television broadcast, and bettors had to wait to find out second hand through pictures and replays.

The second-favorite at DraftKings is a tie between orange (+250), the color from the Chiefs’ victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023, and green/yellow (+250).

Red has +425 odds, Blue comes in at +450 odds, while clear, also known as water, is +850.

If you don’t expect a celebratory bath, you can wager on that at 15/1 odds. That outcome last occurred in 2017 and three times since 2000.

Gatorade was first dumped on a coach in 1984 when Bill Parcells was bathed by the Giants, and betting on it became popular in the late 1990s.

Last year, it appears that some inside information leaked as mass betting on the color purple came down on Super Bowl Sunday, with purple being bet down from +275 to -150 by game time.
