Trump nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine, a three-star general, to serve as his replacement. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also removed other key leaders of the armed forces including Navy Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife.

Over the weekend, Hamas returned Israeli hostages in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners as a part of the ceasefire agreement brokered with the help of Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East.
Witkoff will likely address future hopes for stability in the Gaza region, alongside his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin as foreign delegations search for a solution that satisfies both Ukraine and its Eastern European counterpart, during his appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
In the midst of global tensions, Democrats have been waging a legislative war on the home front by battling Trump’s outpour of executive orders in courtrooms, press conferences and on both Congressional floors. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) may discuss recent crackdowns from the Trump administration on Gov. Janet T. Mills (D-Maine) at the White House in addition to Sen.
