Influencers are people, too—just ask Britain’s biggest social media star, Molly-Mae Hague.

Hague is known for her effortless style and travel content, which she presents to over 8.5 million Instagram followers. But what goes on behind the scenes?

After facing a very public breakup with boxer Tommy Fury, she’s ready to tell all. What really happened between the two of them? And how will they co-parent their daughter? Hague has a toddler to take care of and a business to launch in her new Prime Video series, Molly-Mae: Behind it All.

It’s raw, relatable, and downright riveting. Here’s what you should know about the social media star’s new series.

Opening Shot: Hague is in the back of a car driving through the streets of London, on her way to an event she’s hosting. Hundreds of fans await her arrival, phones in hand ready to capture footage of their favorite reality star. On the outside, Hague appears to be in good spirits: she smiles and waves at fans who stare admirably. Meanwhile, a voiceover recounts details of her breakup with fellow Love Island star Tommy Fury. Hague isn’t shy to admit it has been the hardest past few months of her life. One news reporter goes as far as to say it’s this generation’s Charles and Diana breakup (a little dramatic, if you ask me).

We see snippets of some of the challenges Hague faces: the aftermath of her breakup, being a single mom, and doing damage control for her clothing brand. The intro juxtaposes between shots of Hague wooing fans and crying behind the scenes.

The Gist: The Molly-Mae brand seems powerful on the outside. She has millions of followers and more social media reach than some TV channels. But beyond the glitz and glamour of fashion shows and appearances for her brand, she’s dealing with real-life struggles.

Originally, Hague and Fury planned on shooting a documentary leading up to their wedding. Following the breakup, Hogue allowed the cameras to follow her solo. We see the influencer driving up to McDonalds to order a Chicken Big Mac, chicken nuggets and mozzarella dippers (yup, she’s just like us). Salad? Could “never be [her].”

In between bites of chicken nuggets, she admits the difficulties of being in a relationship in the public eye. Flash back to five years earlier, she walked into Love Island as a bombshell and went on her first date with Fury in a hot tub. Viewers watch on as Hague views flashback footage from the series, the couple’s travel adventures afterward, and Fury’s eventual proposal. The memories leave her teary-eyed, understandably. It’s brutal.

Hague stays in contact with Fury via phone calls to communicate about their daughter, Bambi—including begging him for baby ballet videos. But she finds it difficult to stay friends. Fury developed an alcohol addiction that made it difficult to be the partner he wanted to be for her. The public’s perception of the breakup being fake only makes matters worse. “I wish it was a publicity stunt, because that would be a lot easier,” said Hague.

What Shows Will It Remind You Of? The public relationship drama is reminiscent of Keeping Up With the Kardashians—with the exception of the screaming matches. However, the vulnerability behind Hague’s influencer life reminded me of The D’Amelio Show, where the audience got a peek at the anxiety behind two of TikTok’s biggest stars. Seeing the contrast between Hague’s gender reveal and her quiet life as a single mom now is a tear-jerker.

Our Take: Call me biased because I’m obsessed with social media, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this show. It’s refreshing to see a glance behind the lives of Instagram’s elite—beyond the expensive bags and brand partnerships. As Hague recounted the emotional aftermath of her breakup, I found myself empathizing and relating to my own past. Her life comes off relatable rather than unattainable, an admirable contrast to other influencer reality shows such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Sex and Skin: None here. This isn’t Love Island. Hague and Fury are broken up, after all.

Parting Shot: Hague is lying in bed, scrolling on her phone. She discloses how the rumors about her relationship were getting to her—including one about him getting another woman pregnant. The only way for her to walk away was to post a statement confirming the breakup. We see Hague’s phone blow up with text messages and several social media videos of fans in shock. Her life changes in an instant, and she doesn’t know what her future holds.

Sleeper Star: Molly-Mae’s manager, Francesca Britton-Lynch. Amidst the chaos, Britton-Lynch holds the pieces of Hague’s life together, whether it’s keeping her clothing brand in line or providing emotional support. Not to mention, she temporarily stopped all interviews so her client wouldn’t have to answer questions about the breakup—a true MVP.

Our Call: STREAM IT. I’m genuinely intrigued if Hague and Fury will ever make amends. It’s an interesting story, whether you follow the influencer on Instagram or not.
