‘Snow White’ slammed by ‘Little Women: LA’ star over CGI dwarves: ‘We were shut out’

The “Snow White” backlash continues.

Actress and “Little Women: LA” guest star Ali Chapman called out Disney for replacing the seven dwarves with CGI in the new live-action film.

“It’s a movie that’s supposed to have real dwarves. Instead, Disney chose to use CGI to replace actors and actresses that are little people that are very talented,” Chapman told TMZ on Wednesday.

“Disney had the great opportunity to cast very talented actors like ourselves,” she added, referring to herself and her husband, Matt McCarthy, who also has dwarfism. “They missed the boat.”

McCarthy weighed in on the topic as well and similarly slammed Disney.

“All the little people out there that are freaking actors and actresses that love to have parts in this kind of movie, and everyone’s trying to get their dreams come true, and it just seems like we’re getting our dreams shut out by Disney and Hollywood,” he said.

Chapman added, “That’s seven roles right there. Seven little people that could’ve filled those roles, and unfortunately we were shut out of that opportunity.”

The “Freakshow” actress urged Hollywood producers to make better decisions than Disney did with the seven dwarves.

“Let’s not go in the direction of CGI,” she said. “Let’s cast people that deserve to be in those roles, especially when it’s for little people. That was made for us.”

The “Snow White” movie starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, out March 21, has been under scrutiny ever since Disney decided to reimagine the seven dwarfs as “magical creatures” of all sizes and genders.

The dwarves in the film are CGI, not real actors, with Jeremy Swift, Martin Klebba, George Salazar, Andy Grotelueschen, Tituss Burgess Jason Kravits and Andrew Barth Feldman as the voices.

Klebba, 55, exclusively told The Post this week that he’s “disappointed” the film’s upcoming Los Angeles premiere has been scaled back by Disney due to multiple controversies.

“I’m not disappointed in Disney. I’m disappointed in the world,” he said.

Klebba continued. “We’ve come to this place in society where people work really hard on this movie, where Marc [Webb], the director, is probably four years into putting this together, [along with] the producers and Disney, and just because a couple of people have views that not everybody feels the same way, now we’re having to alter the fun part of making a movie, which is premieres.”

“So I’m a little bummed, but I understand it as well,” Klebba said. “Disney is one of the greatest production companies of all time, so you gotta be really careful in today’s world. So I see why they did it. I’m just still a little bummed because I was really looking forward to doing the red carpet.”

“Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage, who has dwarfism, previously criticized the film for how its portraying the seven dwarves.

“Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback [when] they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’” Dinklage, 55, said on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast in 2022.

“You’re progressive in one way but then you’re still making that f–king backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together,” Dinklage continued. “What the f–k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.”

The upcoming remake of the 1937 classic film having Zegler, a Latina actress, in the lead role has also led to complaints of Disney being too “politically correct” and “woke.”

In addition, Zegler has faced backlash for calling the original film “extremely dated” and for the social media rant she went on against people who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Zegler and Gadot’s opposing views on the ongoing war in Gaza has been a PR nightmare for the film, as well.
