HOUSTON — The New Orleans terrorist lived in a dilapidated trailer with cheap furniture, rusted workout equipment and a possible handgun case on the kitchen table, an exclusive first look inside shows.
The home in a predominantly Muslim neighborhood of North Houston where suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar lived looks like it was hastily abandoned before he attacked Bourbon Street on New Year’s Day — killing 14 and injuring dozens.
Neighbors told The Post that Jabbar, 42, had only left the house hours before his bloody 3 a.m. rampage, claiming to them that he was moving to the Big Easy for a better job.
Muntaz Bashir, who lives next door, said he offered to help Jabbar move that morning, but the killer explained he was moving to a furnished apartment in New Orleans, and wasn’t bringing anything with him.
Bashir saw the new white Ford F-150 Lightning pickup Jabbar used in his rampage and assumed he’d rented or bought it for the move.

Just hours after the neighbors spoke Tuesday morning, Jabbar was shot dead by police about 350 miles away when he plowed that same truck through the packed crowd.
“Unfortunately, you can’t read someone’s mind,” Bashir said, explaining that Jabbar appeared completely normal when they spoke that morning.
“I was shocked.”
