Rudy Giuliani has satisfied his judgment in the Georgia election worker defamation case, court filings from Monday show.
The judgment was satisfied on Friday and comes just over a month after the former New York City mayor reached a tentative settlement with Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, two women he accused of election fraud after the 2020 presidential election.
Freeman and Moss have been waiting to collect their $146 million judgment since they were awarded the sum at a December 2023 trial.
Monday’s filing showed the $146 million sum, in addition to interest rates and nearly $90,000 in attorneys fees, were satisfied on Friday and capped off a dramatic few years in court for all three parties.
The women argue their lives were disrupted when Giuliani falsely claimed they engaged in election fraud in the critical swing state of Georgia. They said they experienced racist and violent threats in the years following the 2020 election.
The settlement agreement didn’t provide many updates in January but noted that litigation had concluded. The judgment being satisfied was first reported by NBC News.
The Hill has reached out to a representative for Giuliani and the two former election workers for comment.
