Robbie Williams has had his fair share of embarrassing moments while performing — but nothing was quite as bad as the time he “berated” the wheelchair section at one of his shows.
The singer stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse for Monday night’s (Jan. 13) episode of Watch What Happens Live to promote his new biopic Better Man, which host Andy Cohen gleefully described as “unbelievable.”
At one point during the episode, a virtual fan asked Williams if it was true that he once pooped his pants onstage.
“Yes, I did poop myself once onstage because of food poisoning,” Williams confirmed, before adding, “And then I did it again because it was enjoyable at another show.”
However, that wasn’t the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened at one of his shows. After some convincing from Cohen and actress Julia Stiles, Williams finally told the cringe-worthy story.
“Basically, I confused the wheelchair section in my show for people who weren’t standing up and enjoying themselves,” he admitted. “And I berated them and I got the whole audience to point at them and boo and stamp their feet and go, ‘Out, out, out!’”
When Williams looked over to the side of the stage, his manager motioned him to stop — and let him know he was addressing the wheelchair section of the audience.
“I was like, ‘Oh, OK,’” Williams recalled of the moment he realized who he was talking to. “And the way you get out of that is a ballad. Definitely a ballad. Definitely by doing ‘Angels.’”
Luckily for the pop star, the situation happened before cell phones had cameras. Otherwise, his singing career likely would’ve tanked faster than his new movie did at the box office!
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
