R.I.P. Keller Fornes: Great American Family ‘County Rescue’ Star Dead At 32

Keller Fornes, who played Griffin on Great American Family’s drama series County Rescue, died on Dec. 19, 2024, Deadline reports. He was 32.

According to the outlet, his obituary was published on Lacy Funeral Home’s website, which confirmed that he died in Eastland, Texas. A cause of death was not immediately publicly shared.

The news was also shared in a social media tribute from Great American Family on Monday (Jan. 6), who wrote that they are “deeply saddened by the passing of Keller Fornes.”

“He was a special person and talent as an actor, writer, and director as well as a singer and musician,” their statement read. “His energy and enthusiasm lifted all he worked with here at Great American Media and the cast and crew of County Rescue. Our prayers are with his family and all those he touched.”

DECIDER reached out to Fornes’ manager for additional comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

The series, which was described as a “faith and family action drama about EMTs and paramedics in personal and professional extremes,” debuted on Feb. 26, 2024. A video introduction from the network describes Griffin as “the Fire Chief’s son who can never live up to his father’s expectations by becoming a medic.”

“He comes across as cocky, confident, and happy-go-lucky but is internally struggling to find his place and share his emotions,” the description continues.

Among those who shared their love in the comments section of the network’s Instagram post were actors Candace Cameron Bure and Lauren Swickard.

Born on April 22, 1992 in Lubbock, Texas, Fornes went on to graduate from the University of North Texas in Denton with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, per his obituary. Aside from acting, he also “wrote, produced and starred in his own independent films.”
