Progressives love shielding illegal immigrant criminals — even when it means little kids get victimized.
Witness the Tuesday arrest of Raymond Rojas Basilio, a monster who spent two decades trying to jump the border and finally made it across, only to sexually assault a child in New York City, get a brief jail sentence and then get cut loose in September to wander the city for months before ICE got him.
All thanks to our monstrous “sanctuary city” policy.
It’s only by chance Rojas Basilio didn’t commit another heinous act against a child in that interim (at least, so far as we know), yet those weeks of freedom are precisely the outcome the left wanted for him.
NY’s own ICE division correctly noted: “As this case illustrates, it only takes one successful unlawful entry to do irreparable harm to a member of our community.”
Sex crimes by illegals are a huge problem, one by no means restricted to New York.
September saw Elmer Sola grabbed up by ICE after raping a child on Nantucket.
Two illegal-immigrant thugs allegedly raped and murdered 12-year old-Jocelyn Nungaray in Texas in June.
ICE arrested in February almost 300 illegals who entered our country to commit sex crimes, including against children.
As admirable as those arrests are, they clearly form just a drop in the bucket against the almost 8 million Biden-admitted border-jumpers.
Yet deep-blue cities and states and their executives continue to insist they will fight President-elect Donald Trump on his promised mass deportations.
Even though that view was thunderously repudiated by Trump’s commanding electoral victory.
Even though most Americans now favor mass deportations, thanks to the chaos Biden unleashed.
So why are these blue-state bitter-enders still fighting the bad fight?
Because they care more about murderous, border-jumping rapists and their nonexistent right to live in America on the taxpayer’s dime than they do about kids.
It’s just that simple.
