Packers’ Romeo Doubs carried off field in scary head-injury scene

The wild-card matchup between the Packers and Eagles on Sunday took a scary turn in the third quarter.

Packers receiver Romeo Doubs attempted to make a leaping catch in the end zone, but after he was unable to haul it in, he fell backward and slammed the back of his head on the ground at Lincoln Financial Field.

He subsequently stayed on the ground before team medical staff evaluated him on the field and helped him walk to the locker room.

He is being evaluated for a concussion, the team said.

Doubs missed two games earlier this year — Weeks 13 and 14 — due to a concussion, and he’s been wearing a protective Guardian cap over his helmet since his return.

The Packers were trailing 10-0 at the time.

Doubs, 24, is in his third season with the Packers, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He recorded 46 catches for 601 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season.

Prior to his injury, Doubs had two catches for 13 yards on Sunday.

The Packers already lost receiver Christian Watson to a knee injury during their Week 18 loss to the Bears.

Now, their receiver depth could take another hit.
