NYC boating horror kills 2, leaves three more injured

A boat capsized in the channel between Brooklyn and Staten Island on Sunday afternoon — killing two people and injuring three more.

One of the craft’s occupants called 911 around noon and told cops that the vessel had somehow flipped over in the Ambrose Channel, the main shipping lane that slices the two boroughs, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police divers and the US Coast Guard descended upon the watery scene about 2 miles off Breezy Point in Queens and pulled five people from the submerged vessel and rushed them to area hospitals.

Two of the people were pronounced dead, while two others were listed in critical condition and a fifth was less seriously hurt, the NYPD said.

Police did not release the name of the boat or details about what may have happened before it capsized.

The US Coast Guard did not respond to a Post inquiry Sunday afternoon.
