Nick Sirianni’s irksome act put Eagles on road to Super Bowl 2025

“If you’re around anyone long enough, they’re going to annoy you, aren’t they?”

That was John Lennon, speaking late in his life, of his old mate and writing partner Paul McCartney, speaking about the falling out they’d experienced years before (in a moment after they’d reconciled), speaking of the reason why two men who’d written 180 of the most unforgettable songs in the history of music could ultimately find it impossible to sit in the same room together.

“I loved Paul,” Lennon said, “but I needed a break from Paul, and he from me.”

Nick Sirianni has been the coach of the Eagles for four years, or about half as long as the Beatles were together as a band. He is, by most definitions of the words, a highly successful football coach. Among all coaches who’ve worked in the NFL after World War II, these are the four with the highest lifetime winning percentage as of this moment.
