New photo gives possible hint on Aaron Rodgers’ post-Jets future

Aaron Rodgers and Steelers safety DeShon Elliott have already mended their differences while preparing for the offseason.

Elliott, who commented on an Instagram post telling the former Jets quarterback to “Leave his ass at the retirement home” on Feb. 12, was pictured with Rodgers while at a training facility, with the pair smiling.

Rodgers, who is set to be a free agent after two less-than-stellar seasons in New York, appeared to be hard at work and finishing up a training session when he was photographed with Elliott.

Proactive SP, which works with plenty of NFL players, including former Steeler Chase Claypool, according to their social media account, posted the undated photo.

“Who retires first? #WhatAreYouCapableOf” @proactivesp said in the Instagram post.

The Steelers have been considered one of the main landing spots for the Steelers in 2025, as quarterback Russell Wilson and Justin Fields provided average results at quarterback for Pittsburgh.

DraftKings Sportsbook posted bettable odds on Rodgers’ next team, and the Steelers opened as favorites to land the former MVP, with the Raiders coming in third.

NFL insider Peter King also poured some fuel on the Rodgers to the Steelers speculation, pointing out the Wilson hit a wall at the end of the season and a change could be due at quarterback.

“I think we have seen Russell Wilson hit a wall, and whether [head coach] Mike Tomlin is even thinking about it…” King said in January.

“If I were the Pittsburgh Steelers, knowing that I’ve got Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt — I got guys on defense with their expiration dates not long in the future — I would want to come in and try to get a quarterback who could make me competitive with Baltimore and Cincinnati in 2025. And that guy, to me, is Aaron Rodgers.”

Elliott, like Rodgers, has a history of making some off-brand comments off the field, so perhaps the two would be able to bond over it while working out together.

His saucy remark about Rodgers came underneath a post referencing how the Steelers emerged as the favorites to land Rogers.
