Meghan Markle has promised to dive into some major “girl talk” as she dropped the trailer for her new podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder.”
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, unveiled her rebranded podcast to the world earlier this month after inking a deal with Lemonada Media in Feb. 2024.
The new deal took place after Spotify decided not to renew the steep $20 million contract for a second season of her now-defunct podcast, “Archetypes.”
On Tuesday, the “Suits” alum’s preview was premiered by People, in which Markle tells fans what they can expect from the eight weekly episodes, out on April 8.
“I’m Meghan, and this is Confessions of a Female Founder, a show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned and the laser focus that got them to where they are today,” the former working royal said in the clip.
“We’re diving into the highs — and the lows — and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses. And of course, we’re going to get some girl talk!”
The snippet included some sound bites from the podcast, which saw several guests speak about their own business successes and challenges.
“It just started climbing and climbing, and there was 5,000, 10,000 people on our website,” one guest shares, while another tells Markle, “I’m broke, and no one is calling me.”
“I knew in that moment that I’d rather stand for something than sell a whole ton of product and stand for nothing,” another guest recalled.
Markle hinted that business will not be the only topic discussed in the episodes.
“Are you saying you’re not single now? Have I missed something in the past couple weeks? What’s happening?” Meghan asks one of her guests.
“And through it all, I’m building a business of my own, and getting all sorts of practical advice along the way that I’m very excited to share with you. So join me for Confessions of a Female Founder from Lemonada Media, which by the way, is also female-founded. Launching April 8, wherever you get your podcasts,” she says in the preview. “Let’s do this, ladies.”
“This is not Shark Tank, think of this as ‘dolphin tank.’ These are very friendly waters, it’s all going to be good,” Markle said in the preview.
Lemonada will be distributing her previous Spotify podcast series to all platforms.
“Archetypes,” which explored the labels that hold women back, was the only project that Markle and Prince Harry produced for Spotify during their 2½-year partnership.
The podcast, which had just 12 episodes, premiered in August 2022 and featured guests such as Markle’s close pal Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling and Paris Hilton.
Along with announcing her new podcast, Markle this month released the eight-part Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” that highlights her cooking and gardening skills at home in Montecito.
The show has been bashed by critics and earned lower viewership numbers than her 2022 series “Harry & Meghan.”
Markle is also launching her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The company, which is selling products like Markle’s signature raspberry jam, used to be called American Riviera Orchard, but she changed the name after facing a slew of trademark issues.
