The premiere of Meghan Markle‘s new Netflix show With Love, Meghan has been pushed back per the Duchess of Sussex’s request to “focus” on helping victims impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she announced in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. Netflix’s Tudum reports that the decision was reached “with the full support of Netflix.”
The series was set to premiere on Netflix Jan. 15, and has now been pushed two months. Its new premiere date is March 4.
Described as a “heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California,” With Love, Meghan shows the Duchess of Sussex entering her Martha Stewart era as she shares recipe and lifestyle tips while surrounded by friends. Many consider the series a natural continuation of her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, where she regularly shared cooking content throughout her acting career.”
Markle, a Los Angeles native, and Prince Harry have been providing aid through their Archewell Foundation, donating supplies and volunteering with the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena where they helped distribute food, per People.
The Netflix series was filmed in Montecito, California, where Markle now resides with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
With Love, Meghan will feature Mindy Kaling, Alice Walker and Roy Choi as guests. Prince Harry will also make an appearance.
Not everyone is eagerly awaiting the first episode. Meghan McCain recently called Markle’s new series “out of touch,” claiming that it’s coming at a time when “there have been two terror attacks in two days, major wars raging and Americans can’t pay for groceries.”
Markle executive produces the series, which is also produced by her production company, Archewell Productions.
