Meghan Markle accused of copying Pamela Anderson as fans point out striking similarities in lifestyle shows

Eagle-eyed fans called out the striking similarities between Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show and Pamela Anderson’s Food Network Canada cooking series, which premieres later this week.

Over the weekend, netizens accused Markle of “copying” Anderson’s series, “Pamela’s Cooking With Love,” with her new show, “With Love, Meghan” — starting with the name.

Aside from the similar titles, they also noted the trailers’ almost identical concepts, language and overall aesthetics.

The teaser for Anderson’s lifestyle program was released in October 2024, nearly three months before Makle dropped her first promotional video.

The “Baywatch” star’s trailer opens with clips of her perusing a garden and laughing in her rustic kitchen.

“I love to cook,” she says in the minute-long preview. “I just have always wanted to take things to another level.”

Similarly, the Duchess of Sussex is seen cooking and picking fresh produce in the opening moments of her “With Love, Meghan” trailer.

“I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it,” Markle declares, similar to Anderson’s opening statement.

In both trailers, the women invite friends and fellow cooks into their homes as they try new recipes and master the art of hosting.

Pointing out the similarities, one user wrote on X, “If you watch the trailer for Pamela’s new show, it’s a more authentic version of what Meghan was trying to achieve & it looks as though Meghan has copied everything! The trailers are so similar it’s freaky.👀👀👀”

“The entire concept is strikingly similar. 😳😳,” another added, as a third chimed in, “Markle’s show is a straight copy of Pamela Anderson’s cooking and entertaining show. Go look at the trailer!”

Fans immediately called attention to the similar titles — which both included the phrase “with love.”

A fourth person simply tagged Netflix’s official account under a clip from Anderson’s trailer, asking, “Sounds familiar?”

Markle’s show was originally scheduled to come out in January but was postponed until March 4 due to the devastating California wildfires.

Meanwhile, Anderson’s series drops on Feb. 26.

Some social media users believe the “Suits” alum tried to release her show before the “Barb Wire” star to avoid comparisons.

While both shows revolve around food, they have slight differences. AP

However, others argue that lifestyle cooking shows are “a dime a dozen” and all bear similarities.

Given the close release dates and production schedules, Markle was likely already working on her promo video when Anderson’s came out — making the likeness coincidental rather than calculated, many insisted.

Although the aesthetics are alike, Markle’s series is focused on her community. In the show, she welcomes her famous friends and family to her “beautiful California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips.”

In the trailer, set to the instrumental version of “Do You Believe in Magic,” Markle chats with pal Mindy Kaling, shares “tips and tricks” for hosting the perfect dinner party, harvests honey and more.

“We are not in the pursuit of perfection, we’re in the pursuit of joy,” she shares. “Love is in the details.”

In contrast, Anderson brought “eight of the world’s most exciting chefs” to her home in Vancouver, BC for her series, which is mainly about the meals with a slight emphasis on the “experience” of hosting.

Reps for Markle and Anderson did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
