Maria Shriver is on Caroline Kennedy’s side.
The diplomat showed her support for her cousin after Caroline issued a scathing letter against Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ahead of his Senate Finance Committee confirmation hearing.
On Tuesday, Shriver tweeted, “Courage is when you do something hard, heartbreaking, and painful… and you do it anyway. Love you, Caroline. Always have, always will.”
The journalist, 69, concluded with a hashtag referencing Caroline’s late father former President John F. Kennedy’s 1956 book, “Profiles in Courage.”
Robert Jr.’s dad, Robert F. Kennedy, and Caroline respectively wrote the best seller’s introduction and the foreword.
Caroline, 67, publicized her open letter via Instagram Tuesday, in a video posted by her son, Jack Schlossberg.
“Please watch this powerful video and read this statement on RFKJr from my mother,” the political correspondent, 32, captioned the upload.
In the footage, Caroline referred to her and Shriver’s cousin as a “predator” and warned senators against confirming him as United States health secretary on Wednesday.
“Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie and cheat his way through life,” the attorney said, claiming he “encouraged” siblings and cousins “down the path of substance abuse.”
She also alleged that RFK Jr. has abused animals, including “put[ting] baby chickens and mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”
Additionally, Caroline said that the “hypocritical” politician has vaccinated his own children despite publicly sharing anti-vaccine conspiracy theories.
RFK Jr. has yet to respond to his family member’s letter.
The environmental lawyer suited up for Wednesday’s hearing, arriving at Capitol Hill with wife Cheryl Hines and was photographed giving her a kiss.
In November 2024, two months before President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, he appointed RFK Jr. head of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
Hines spoke about her husband’s role on an episode of the “Skinny Confidential” podcast earlier this month, admitting she has been “reevaluating” friendships as they head to Washington, DC.
