A 64-year-old man was killed and a firefighter hurt when a fire ripped through a Queens home early Friday, officials said.
The man was discovered inside the two-story private house on 46th Street near 39th Avenue in Sunnyside Gardens, where the first floor became engulfed in flames just before 3 a.m., according to the FDNY and NYPD.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his name was not immediately released.

One firefighter was also taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center with minor injuries, fire officials said.
A dozen FDNY units, including 60 fire and EMS personnel, responded to the blaze, which was extinguished just after 4 a.m.
The cause remains under investigation by the FDNY’s fire marshal, officials said.
