A flower delivery service claiming to operate out of Long Island has reportedly closed after racking up thousands of complaints over cancelled orders and withheld refunds.
Customers from across the country say orders placed through SarataFlowers.com were often cancelled, but refunds withheld even after they were sent emails promising their money back, told CBS News.
“They just made it so miserable for me. It was a, well it’s still a nightmare because they’re still not doing anything to refund the money,” Celia Silberman told the outlet.
Silberman said she ordered a $61 bouquet for her sister’s 90th birthday in the fall, but the business said her order couldn’t be completed.

Then when she tried to get her money back it became a months-long ordeal.
“I don’t like being out the money, but it’s not a huge amount. It just made me angry,” Silberman said.
Silberman was just one of scores of customers left frustrated after ordering from SarataFlowers.com — while it was open, the business amassed a whopping 2,286 complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
And those complaints — which earned the business an “F” rating by the BBB — were logged over just three years, according to CBS.
“If somebody looks online, they would see that consumers have experienced delays and cancellations on their orders over and over again,” Claire Rosenzweig of the BBB told the outlet.
SarataFlowers.com is listed as having an address in Suffolk County, but the building’s owner told CBS they’d never heard of the company.
The business’ website has since been closed down after news of their practices broke, and Silberman’s refund has been issued.
SarataFlowers.com did not respond to request for comment, but told CBS its florists were not able to satisfy customers.
