Congress now has the ball rolling on enacting Trump’s agenda, with the House dramatically passing a budget resolution on Tuesday night by the slimmest margin, 217-215.
Amid the Trump administration’s efforts to freeze foreign aid, the congressional Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee is hearing Wednesday morning from witnesses on the effects of such aid. But Trump’s orders to block global spending have been stymied by legal action, including on Tuesday by a federal judge’s ruling that billions of dollars in blocked aid be released after determining it failed to comply with a previous court order to do so.
Trump is expected to sign more executive orders on Wednesday afternoon, an action he’s taken many days of his presidency thus far.
