Kelly Ripa Does Not Want Mark Consuelos To Share His Location With Her: “I Know Where You Are Here, And That’s Enough For Me”

In a world where everyone seems to be keeping tabs on each other at all times, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are staying old school.

The “new relationship deal breaker” that Consuelos and Ripa tackled on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning involved a partner’s willingness to share their location. The two revealed that they don’t have each other’s locations, leading Ripa to quip, “The last thing I want to know is where you are at all times.”

“I don’t need to know that,” she added. “I know where you are here, and that’s enough for me.”

Consuelos replied, “If you’re looking for me, I’m upstairs. I’m in my den.”

Nonetheless, Consuelos voiced his thoughts on the matter, claiming that “it’s a little weird” if someone you’re dating asks for your location.

“It’s something I think that the person should offer to you,” he explained. “‘Hey, I’m going to share my location with you.’ You shouldn’t ask.”

While Ripa remained confused by the need for location sharing, Consuelos brought Live‘s executive producer Michael Gelman into the conversation, who shared that he and his family share their locations with each other.

“It’s very convenient,” Gelman said.

Ripa asked, “But where do they think you are, though? I can tell them where you are.”

Gelman noted that his family can see if he is running late, or he can check where they are if he wants to call them in order to make sure they are not still at work.

Consuelos then returned to the article, reading that “21% of the respondents to a survey said that it’s a deal breaker if a potential partner isn’t willing to share their location.”

Gelman highlighted that it’s also become “a social thing,” but Ripa felt that “it’s a dealbreaker for [her] if you need to know where [she] is.”

“I’m where I told you I am, and you don’t need to know anything else other than that,” she continued.

However, Ripa later recalled an instance where sharing her location with Consuelos proved to be helpful. She regaled Live with the time she got lost on a solo hike in Colorado, despite Consuelos advising her not to go alone.

“I said, ‘I know where I am,’ and of course I got lost,” she remembered. “And Mark said, ‘Share your location with me.’ And this is where it was like a generational divide, where I became like my own grandmother. Mark’s like, ‘Just share your location with me and I will guide you home.’ And I could not do that.”

Although Consuelos “walked [her] through” how to share her location with him, they said it was “very frustrating” for the both of them.

“And we may or may not still be talking to this day, and that was six years ago,” she teased.
