Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos Agree They Would “Wind Up Right Back Together” If They Ever Got Divorced: “I’d Still Be Totally Sticking Around And Interfering”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos know they are meant to be.

Ripa kicked off Friday morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark with a bold thought exercise for her husband and co-host.

“If you and I were to get divorced… let’s start on a high note,” she quipped. “If you and I were to get divorced —”

Consuelos replied, “I hate this game already.”

While Ripa clarified that this is “not a game,” but rather “a scenario,” she ultimately told Consuelos, “I feel you and I would wind up right back together.”

“Definitely,” Consuelos agreed. “Yeah, how many years have we been married? It’s almost 30. Yeah, where am I going?”

As Ripa doubled down on her theory, Consuelos claimed that Ripa would look “glamorous” any time they saw each other to impress him.

“You’d look really adorable,” he said.

Ripa replied, “Oh, you mean like I would deliberately turn it on.”

After Consuelos confirmed Ripa’s understanding, explaining that she would likely do so “to show [him] what [he] was missing,” Ripa teased, “Instead of the monster that you’re getting everyday.”

Ripa shared the reason why she prompted the conversation, highlighting a couple who got married very young and divorced after 24 years together.

“And they just rekindled their love affair. They were good friends through the whole thing, like they remained friends,” she continued. “Now she’s 89 and he’s 94. And they are reunited and it feels so good.”

According to Ripa, the couple got remarried, having gone on a trip to a casino together.

“Bob won a jackpot, and Jenny was playing the penny slots,” she added. “And that’s when he knew that she was his good luck charm.”

The two co-hosts praised the “sweet story,” as Ripa noted, “I feel like that would be us.”

“Like, even if you were to divorce me, you know I’d still be totally sticking around and interfering,” she quipped.

Consuelos added, “With everything.”
