Gov. Kathy Hochul has joined fellow Democrats in bashing President Donald Trump for relying on Elon Musk. But who does she call to help her on the huge issue of whether to remove New York’s mayor?
Why, the Rev. Al Sharpton.
The guy who made his name inciting deadly riots and pogroms and pushing racial hoaxes.
On Tuesday, Hochul met with The Rev and other Dem leaders to discuss removing Mayor Eric Adams from office for the grave offense of potentially aiding President Trump.
Bad enough that Dems want to (again) diss voters and decide by themselves who gets to be an “elected” leader.
But to consult Sharpton, of all people?
Did she want the expertise he gained in the Crown Heights riots?
The Freddy’s Fashion Mart inferno (which left eight dead)?
The Tawana Brawley hoax?
In Musk, Trump is consulting a guy whose company caught a rocket in midair and is rescuing astronauts stranded in space, not to mention his EVs, internet satellites, PayPal and more.
Still, Hochul blasts Musk for overseeing a “shadowy” Department of Government Efficiency, joining other Dems who whine that he’s “unelected.”
Yet nobody elected Sharpton — who’s lost the few elections he ran in.
And when no one except the city’s voters should get to say who serves as New York’s mayor.
Not that New York Democrats, for all their talk of “democracy,” are actually all that big on it.
They may still conspire to force a prolonged vacancy in the North Country US House seat; they’ve repeatedly gerrymandered districts to boost their own party.
And of course they played low lawfare games to try to derail now-again-President Donald Trump.
Now they (or at least their progressive wing) want to boot Adams, voters be damned.
When the Democratic Party doesn’t give two shakes for democracy, we suppose it’s fitting that its state leader seeks the “expertise” of a racial arsonist.
