He was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Jason Kelce detailed the “sheer discomfort” of watching his brother, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs compete in the 2025 Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“It was the weirdest game ever watching,” Jason said on his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast Wednesday.
“The only other time you don’t care about the outcome is when you’re not really attached to either of the teams. And in that case, there’s not a lot of emotions put into it.”
Jason, who retired from the Eagles in March 2024, remembered jumping out of his seat for both his former team and Travis’ Chiefs.
“I’m going back and forth, and it just ended up just not being a fun game to watch because at all times I’m just like … I don’t even know what I wanna say, man,” he said.
“I really don’t. Because no matter what, it’s going to piss somebody off,” Jason added.
Travis, 35, said his older brother was giving people too much of his “effort,” “time” and “attention” by being worried about what they think.
The soon-to-be dad of four, 37, said he “didn’t know what it was going to feel like going through the game.”
“I thought I understood going into it that I would be happy in some way and sad in another way, but the further the game went on, I just got more and more upset. … I didn’t anticipate the amount of sheer discomfort and frustration that I would have watching the game,” the one-time Super Bowl champ recalled.
Jason said if the score were closer, that “might have made it better,” explaining, “I think that fact that it was that kind of lopsided was like, man, this is f–king hard, to be honest with you.”
On Sunday, Travis and the Chiefs lost to the Eagles 22-40 during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Following the championship game, the tight end remained stoic as he congratulated several of the Eagles players, including Jalen Hurts and Dallas Goedert.
Jason watched the game from a VIP suite with his pregnant wife, Kylie Kelce, Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and the brothers’ mom, Donna Kelce.
Page Six exclusively reported that the “Bad Blood” singer, also 35, “knows Travis took this loss very hard, but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome.”
