Israel and Hamas reach breakthrough in hostage, cease-fire negotiation talks

Israel and Hamas reached a breakthrough overnight in hostage-ceasefire negotiation talks, with the terror organization confirming the scores of prisoners being held in the Gaza Strip will soon be freed.

U.S. and Arab mediators made significant strides toward a ceasefire deal in the Israel-Hamas war and securing the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip, but a deal has not yet been reached, sources told the Associated Press on Monday.

Hamas also came out with a statement confirming steps were being made toward a deal.

“We renew our pledge with our steadfast and patient people and with our heroic prisoners in the prisons, and we affirm that their freedom is near,” the terror group said, according to the Times of Israel.
