Originally set to be a spinoff series of the Showtime drama Ray Donovan called The Donovans, showrunner Ronan Bennett decided to switch gears. Now headlined by Tom Hardy, the new British crime drama MobLand premiered last week on Paramount+.
With a stacked cast including Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Dame Helen Mirren, and Joanne Froggott, and executive produced, directed and written by Guy Ritchie, the show was written by Tony award winning writer Jez Butterworth.
Premiering back on March 30th, the show follows Harry De Souza (Hardy), a fixer who is called upon by Conrad Harrigan (Brosnan), the patriarch of the powerful Harrigan crime family to contain problems they get involved in. But as Harry gets more involved, he soon has to contain a conflict between the Harrigans and their rivals, the Stevensons.
