Indiana mom gets prison time for running over 8-year-old daughter in cruel game

An Indiana mom has been sentenced to four years in prison for running over her 8-year-old daughter while playing a cruel “game” where she pretended to drive away from her kids.

Jasmine White, 27, was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to child neglect charges over the near-deadly game that left her daughter with serious head injuries, WNDU reported.

White would routinely race her kids to her car and lock the doors, pretending to leave them behind, another daughter, age just 6, told police.

The mom drove off at up to 20 mph on Aug. 29 last year with her 8-year-old daughter still holding onto the car door handle, it was previously reported.

The 8-year-old girl’s foot then caught under the rear tire of her mother’s car, pulling her down and slamming her head on the ground as several siblings watched on in horror, WNDU previously reported.

The girl was left in critical condition with skull and orbital fractures, various abrasions and a large facial laceration that had exposed a portion of the front of her skull. She also lost five teeth, the outlet reported.

Doctors were able to stabilize the girl, and she was discharged from the hospital several days later.

White initially pleaded not guilty to charges but reached a plea deal in January.

She will serve four years at St. Joseph County Jail and two years of work release and probation after.
