Firefighters uncovered a hidden drug lab while battling a four-alarm blaze in a Bronx apartment building, according to an FDNY source.
The alarming discovery was made inside a third-floor apartment at 3030 Heath Ave. in Kingsbridge, as flame-eaters were evacuating residents from the building, the source told The Post.
The blaze broke out just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
“We came across chemicals and drug-making paraphernalia and turned it over for the NYPD for handling,” they told The Post.
Police didn’t immediately answer questions about whether the department is investigating the drug den.
In total, 39 units and 168 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire, which erupted on the fourth floor of the four-story building, according to FDNY.
Shocking images show six fire brigade cranes extended from the street to the building’s roof — where firefighters are seen battling the massive flames.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries, the department said.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze, which displaced dozens of residents.
