Fan stretched off court in scary scene that delays Grizzlies-Spurs game

A man collapsing courtside and needing medical attention delayed the start of the Spurs-Grizzlies game on Monday night.

The medical emergency occurred as both teams were getting ready for the tip at FedEx Forum.

EMTs gave the man CPR on the floor and he was taken off in a stretcher after about seven minutes.

There has not been an update on his status. 

Both teams appeared emotional as the fan was being attended to. They were sent back to the locker room as the start was delayed.

Grizzlies players – including star Ja Morant – huddled up before going to the back. 

The teams were given 15 minutes to warm up when they returned to the court and the game was delayed for 45 minutes, according to the Commercial Appeal.

The Spurs come into the game after acquiring Kings star De’Aaron Fox in a three-team blockbuster trade that also sent the Bulls’ Zach LaVine to Sacramento.

The Grizzlies are currently second in the West at 33-16
