F1 legend Sergio Pérez in contract to buy a skypad in Miami

Mexican racing driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez is gearing up to buy his first home in Miami — just as reports swirl about his potential F1 comeback.

The champ race car driver, whose full name is Sergio Michel “Checo” Pérez Mendoza, is in contract to buy a ritzy residence at Related Group’s St. Regis Residences, Miami, sources told Gimme Shelter.

The four-bedroom, 5½-bathroom home is just over 4,400 square feet and will be at 1809 Brickell Ave. with views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. While the price has not been disclosed, a current four-bedroom on the 27th floor is asking $6.94 million.

Pérez’s residence comes with city skyline and water views, along with elevator access, a chef’s kitchen — and a 750-square-foot terrace. Pérez was repped by Hans Baumgartner, president of Miami Real Investment, in the deal.

Pérez competed in Formula One from 2011 to 2024 and won six Grands Prix races across 14 seasons of the Formula One World Championship. But in December, the popular star — who has 7.5 million followers on social media — parted ways with Red Bull. However, there’s now talk that he’s poised for a comeback with a new team in 2026.

The 50-story tower from Related and Integra Investments comes with 150 condos and features 50,000 square feet of amenities including a residents-only fine-dining restaurant by Michelin-starred Chef Fabio Trabocchi.

The building was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects with interiors by Rockwell Group. Related and Integra broke ground for the tower in November 2024. The building is now more than 65% sold, with completion slated for 2027.

Amenities also include a gym with a Pilates and yoga studio, a full-size pickleball court, a private marina, a house car, a spa and wellness center, and an indoor lap pool. There’s also a private beach club and an outdoor pool, a business center and a coffee shop.
