A retired NYPD lieutenant who exposed a sex-for-OT scandal that cost a high-ranking chief his job has filed a complaint over explicit leaked nude videos making the rounds on social media.
The lawyer for ex-NYPD Lt. Quathisha Epps warned this week that he will deploy “all available legal remedies” to get to the bottom of the videos that he said his client was coerced into makings during her tryst with disgraced Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey.
“[Epps] now suspects that her abuser secretly recorded their sexual encounters without her consent and is unlawfully retaining, using, or threatening to use these materials against her,” attorney Eric Sanders said in a statement posted on his firm’s website.
“If proven in a court of law, the unauthorized recording, storage, or potential dissemination of these materials may constitute violations of federal and state law,” Sanders wrote. “Any attempt to retain, distribute, or use these materials against Ms. Epps could be unlawful, and we are committed to pursuing all available legal remedies to protect her rights and ensure accountability under the law.”
Epps, 51, who topped the department with more than $200,000 in overtime in 2023, blew the whistle on the alleged harassment in an Equal Employment Opportunity complaint in December — prompting Maddrey to abruptly resign following a 33-year police career.
In her first interview Monday, Epps told WABC Eyewitness News that all of the alleged sexual assaults took place a police headquarters in downtown Manhattan.
“This guy is a monster,” she told the outlet during a tearful interview.
“Who’s gonna believe me? Who can I talk to? Who can I tell?” Epps said. “I never said a cross word about him. I just tried to lay low and survive.”
Maddrey’s lawyer denied the allegations in December, and said the married former chief had a brief, consensual relationship with Epps — while noting she was disciplined on the job for allegedly falsifying department time sheets.
However, Sanders said this week that the tawdry videos now circulating online has victimized Epps again.
He said Epps was coerced into sending the videos, which were viewed by The Post, which show the 19-year veteran cop nude, touching herself and in one clip addressing Maddrey directly and making sexually explicit comments.
“Individuals acting on behalf of the alleged abuser—whether as legal counsel, intermediaries, or other agents—are strictly prohibited from participating in, concealing, or enabling illegal conduct,” he said.
“Any person who knowingly aids in the retention, transmission, or use of illicit materials, engages in coercion, extortion, or threats, or otherwise assists in efforts to obstruct justice will be held accountable under the law,” the lawyer added.
