A Philadelphia Eagles fan found an unexpected message from another fan after the team’s Super Bowl victory parade last week.
Amy Rannabargar posted on her Facebook that she discovered a vintage jacket hanging on a light post while leaving the parade. And taped inside the jacket was a note.
“If found, do NOT return,” the anonymous message began. “This jacket belongs to you!”
The message continued:
“I found this jacket on the night of the Super Bowl in 2018 and it only felt right to release back into the city when the Eagles won again. Enjoy the jacket. I hope you get the opportunity to release back into the world with another SB win soon. Go Birds.”
In 2018, the Eagles won their first Super Bowl, stunning the favored New England Patriots 41-33 in a surprise victory.
The team won again this year, beating the defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 on Feb. 9.
Rannabargar posted a picture of the note on her jacket on her Facebook page two days later, and on a Philadelphia Eagles fan group page.
“I found this jacket at the parade on Friday as I was leaving the art museum. I cannot wait to pass this along on the next Super Bowl win,” she wrote.
Her post was shared more than 2,000 times.
“Like a Philly “message in a bottle”!” wrote Lea Janine.
According to one fan, the jacket is the original Eagles Starter Jackets.
“I know cause my grandfather passed me down his & I wear it proudly,” wrote Shana Earland.
Rannabargar said she plans to continue the tradition.
“Next Super Bowl, I want to pay it forward,” she told NBC Philadelphia.
