Drew Barrymore‘s kids were “freaking out” over the fact that she got to sit down with Step Brothers star Adam Scott for this morning’s episode of her eponymous daytime talk show.
“I can’t even tell you how many times we’ve watched Step Brothers,” Barrymore told Scott, while Severance director Ben Stiller described the Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly-led comedy as “one of the funniest movies of all time.”
In fact, Barrymore’s daughters are such big fans of Step Brothers that they learned the “Ice Ice Baby” dance that Scott’s character Derek does in the film in a short flashback to his high school talent show.
“I’ve had time in my life where it’s just like, back, forth, back, forth, rewind, pause, stop so that they can learn it,” Barrymore said. “Then they’re like, ‘OK, we got it, are you ready?’ And I’ll just sit there on the couch like, ‘OK, girls, go!’”
According to Scott, there was more to the dance than what fans saw in the final cut of the movie.
“That was like a four-minute sequence that we had an entire dance and there’s only like five seconds in the movie,” he revealed. “But we had this whole thing. I don’t know what happened to it. It never came up.”
The Severance star promised to find “the entire dance” for Barrymore, who excitedly said she would “freak out” if he was able to do that.
The actress has been sharing more and more about her daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, on The Drew Barrymore Show. Just last week, she revealed the adorable name they gave her movies.
“I didn’t have that sort of family pride thing. And then I had these two daughters and I was like, I don’t want to be the parent that’s like, ‘Hey, kids. You know what we’re doing tonight? We’re watching one of my movies,’” Barrymore explained on the Jan. 14 episode. “So, I had to let them find them on their own.”
“And then they started calling them ‘mom movies,’” she added. “They would say, ‘We’re gonna watch a mom movie.’”
