‘Days Of Our Lives’ actor Francisco San Martin dead at 39

Actor Francisco San Martin, best known for his role in “Days Of Our Lives,” has died at age 39.

Martin, who played Dario Hernandez on the long-running soap, was discovered by police at his Los Angeles home on Jan. 16.

While an official cause of death is yet to be announced, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office told the Hollywood LA News that Martin is believed to have died by suicide.

The actor first appeared on the hit soap back in 2011 portraying a thief, who later turned out to be an investigator. He appeared on the soap for six months.

He character arc saw him move to Argentina for a job, and was later portrayed by Jordi Vilasuso from 2016 to 2017.

During his TV career, Martin also appeared “The Bold And The Beautiful” where he played groundskeeper Mateo in 2017.

That same year, he also boasted a recurring role on the hit show “Jane The Virgin,” starring Gina Rodriguez, in which he played estate manager Fabian Regalo del Cielo.

His character appeared in seasons 3 and 4 of the hit show, during which he was embroiled in a doomed relationship with Rodriguez’s character.

His resume also included an acting credit in the Steven Soderbergh film “Behind The Candelabra,” which starred Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.

Among those who have paid heartfelt tribute is the actor’s former “Days of Our Lives” co-star Camila Banus, who played Dario’s sister Gabi on the soap.

“Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more,” she wrote on Instagram, per Forbes.

The actor, who hails from Mallorca, Spain, was raised in Montana and kickstarted his acting career in children’s theater.

During his teenage years, his family moved to Spain where he tried his hand at modeling work.

There, he discovered his passion for acting and went on to appear in several Spanish plays, TV shows and onscreen projects, before ultimately moving back to the US.
