Dave Portnoy has sided with the Swifties’ dream Super Bowl narrative.
If the Chiefs are to win their third consecutive Super Bowl — making them the first NFL team to ever accomplish the feat — many diehard Taylor Swift fans want to see the Grammy award-winning star’s boyfriend Travis Kelce pull out a different ring and propose.
To Portnoy, it isn’t a possibility he is fully confident to put money on, but admitted that it would be a “great move,” the founder of Barstool Sports told TMZ Sports in New Orleans.
“They kind of are the first couple of the United States,” he added. “The Super Bowl is as big as it gets, so I actually like that. I actually like that move.”
Portnoy, who is a big fan of Swift, did admit, however, that the moment may be too big for the singer-songwriter. Rather, she would prefer a more private moment.
Throughout the week leading up to the big game, Kelce has been continuously asked about whether he will get down on one knee on Sunday.
However, the 10-time Pro Bowler, who will be chasing down his fourth Super Bowl ring, has kept his lips sealed.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Kelce, 35, said with a smile when asked if he planned to propose to Swift.
Betting markets even released odds on whether Kelce will pop the question. “No” has been the heavy favorite.
The couple has been together for nearly two years and became public at the start of the 2023-24 season.
Swift has been in attendance for several games at Arrowhead Stadium in her first two years in the NFL scene.
She also supported Kelce and the Chiefs last year in Las Vegas when they beat the 49ers in overtime for their second consecutive Super Bowl title. She sat in a box with Donna Kelce as well as several celebrity friends including Blake Lively and Ice Spice.
Swift will be at the big game in New Orleans and was spotted with Kelce out on the town along with Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes for a double date on Friday night.
